I could learn about my own history.  It was worth looking at.  It had value! Professor Annette Baxter taught the history of American women, and the stories were thrilling, compelling, meaningful-important even. Women changed and defined this country, and learning about it made it possible for me to understand that I could too; I vowed that I would, somehow.
